Metro Schools will be closed on Friday, February 4 due to inclement weather conditions. Rather than moving to a virtual day, we will cancel classes and have a traditional "snow day."

Tonight's PTSA meeting will go on as planned and will be hosted at 6:30pm on Zoom. The agenda will include funding requests, volunteer opportunities and other updates. All families are invited to participate from the comfort of home; check your email for the meeting link.

Metro Schools will move to a Virtual Day (online classes) for Thursday, February 3 due to inclement weather anticipated in our area. Parents and students should check their email for further details on Thursday's class schedule.

Wellness students took advantage of the warmest day this week to complete their initial PT test: two minutes of pushups, two minutes of sit-ups and a one mile run. Class requirements include setting goals to be healthier, stronger and faster by the end of the term.

In place of our annual "Taste of Metro" cultural potluck, Metro is creating a digital cookbook of recipes representing our school's cultural diversity. Metro is offering female students the chance to take part in "Rock The Street, Wall Street" (RTSWS) this spring! RTSWS is a financial and investment literacy program designed to spark the interest of a diverse population of high school girls into careers in finance. The program is facilitated by local female financial professionals who will join students in the classroom.
We are recruiting now for the RTSWS Spring Mentorship component at Metro High School. This consists of five 1-hour sessions (roughly 1x/month), where your child will learn about personal and professional development, goal setting, interview skills, stock market analysis and social media etiquette.
Participants will be offered guidance on high school and college course selection, will create resumes, build a LinkedIn profile, and apply business skills to real world situations. The goal is to encourage women to become financially literate, independent and equally represented in the field of finance.
Deadline to sign up for the Spring Mentorship is January 20.
You may contact the RTSWS Team directly with any questions: https://rockthestreetwallstreet.com/contact-us-2/.
Students can register directly via the Rock The Street, Wall Street app. Be sure to indicate Metro as the school of attendance.
