Geometry students collaborated with peers in the Design Early College program on an interdisciplinary lesson to build trusses. Geometry groups served as design engineers and Design students served as structural engineers, making modifications before 3D printing each truss. Ms. Altstaetter's Investigation Into Literature classes conducted a deep study of characters and examined character traits. Students then worked in book groups to create characters and shared evidence to support their thinking.

College Visit Day is an annual opportunity for Metro students to see a variety of campuses first hand as they plan for the future. Campus tours include presentations, a chance to see college dorms and eat in the cafeterias. Advisory groups traveled to 10 campuses this year.

Students in Ms. Geygan's 7th grade science classes conduct experiments studying how rolling, sliding and static friction act on them and how different fluids act against the force of gravity on a penny.
Thanks to the parents who attended the Oven Showcase in Mr. Westwood's classes. After two weeks learning about heat transfer and designing and building working ovens out of everyday materials, 8th graders demonstrated their projects and made S'mores for visitors.

Bodies ECE students participate in interactive activities with Ohio State anesthesiologists, which include learning how to use ultrasounds and how to intubate on a manikin.
Interdisciplinary Work: Mrs. Linik and Mr. Caldwell's classes collaborated on a project to build a strong truss. Geometry students served as Design Engineers by researching different types of trusses and creating a prototype. Students in Design ECE took on the role of Structural Engineers by analyzing the designs to build the trusses. Testing will take place later this week!
