Metro Schools has developed a guidance document with protocols for the start of school this fall. Components include blended and full-time virtual options, a decrease in the number of students on campus at one time, increased cleaning/sanitation, social distancing, face mask requirement, and daily monitoring for symptoms of illness.
Parents will have the option to select a blended or full-time virtual schedule for their children for the fall; a survey will be sent to families to indicate their preference. Students in the blended option will be assigned two in-person class days (Monday/Tuesday or Thursday/Friday) and will participate in virtual instruction the remainder of the week. Students opting for full-time virtual instruction will participate in classes from home Monday-Friday.
The middle and high school daily schedules are in progress with the goal of minimizing transitions and allowing for adequate social distancing. The make-up of cohorts is tentative to ensure compliance with state guidelines and to accommodate families opting for blended instruction. Additional details will be shared as plans are developed.
