Sanju presenting project

Senior Sanju K. represented Metro at the Ohio Statehouse during the Ohio Early College Association (OECA) Poster Session April 8. Held at the Governor Thomas Worthington Center, the event highlighted the achievements and demographics of Ohio’s early college high schools.

Sanju presented her capstone research project, "Relationships of Negative Symptom Severity with Social Functioning in Patients of Psychosis," conducted in partnership with Dr. Jessica Turner at Ohio State University’s Pelotonia Research Center. Her work explores critical mental health challenges and showcases the depth of inquiry made possible through Metro’s research-based early college pathways.

Director of External Affairs Anthony Alston and Bodies Pathway Teacher Erika Reeves joined Sanju at the event. Together, they shared insights with legislators about Metro’s unique academic programs and their impact on college and career readiness for students.

Metro is proud to continue its tradition of academic excellence and meaningful student research experiences, preparing scholars like Sanju for bright futures in higher education and beyond.
